HSGC Receives Grant from Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation

Humane Society of Garland County is excited to announce that we are the recipient of an $18,000 grant from Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation.  The purpose of the grant is to help equip the surgery and recovery rooms of our adoption and education center, located at 1321 Hwy 128 in Lonsdale, AR. The new surgical center will allow us to provide onsite spay/neuter and basic veterinary services to the animals in our care, thus preventing the need to transport our animals to the vet’s office whenever medical attention is needed.  Our long term plans also include providing low cost spay/neuter clinics for needy pet owners in our local community.  Obtaining this grant is a huge step toward our goal of reducing unwanted animals in our local region by prevention of unwanted litters through spay/neuter.
